A lot of plugins that I discover out there are often something I would love to use, but I don’t really need them. Now if it were more than just Judy and myself, and we had teams or several individuals working on our content, well, I would snag the Oasis Workflow plugin in a minute. I can see how it would easily save time and headaches while allowing your editorial workflow to go much smoother.
The Oasis Workflow Plugin
In this video review, I walk you through the basic settings, how to create a simple workflow with the drag and drop interface, a look at some very cool built-in features, and three add-ons to extend the functionality even more.
From this video, you will see that what you can do is limited only by your own needs: from a simple 3-step workflow to creating complex workflows with numerous tasks, individuals, team, or groups.
The three add-ons we will look at are:
Oasis WorkFlow Groups
Allows you to assign tasks to a group of users no matter what their role is. And each group can be added to any specific step in the workflow.
Oasis Workflow Editorial Checklist
This add-on gives you the control to define pre-publish or editorial checklists for your WordPress posts and also to automate the validation of the checklist in any step of the workflow.
Oasis Workflow Editorial Comments
Lets you easily add contextual comments during your editorial review process and allows users to easily view them and take action. Perfect for better communication during the review process.
As I said before, if I had a need for editorial workflow, this one would be at the top of my list. Its feature-rich interface and simple drag-and-drop organization of workflows makes it possible to create any type of workflow you could ever imagine. In addition to the three add-ons I showed you in the video, there are three more you may want to check out and of course, I anticipate that there are on the horizon.
If you are looking to get better control and increase communication among your staff, team or groups, the Oasis Workflow plugin for WordPress is something you definitely should check out.
